Inclusion opportunities for young people
With the launch of our Children's Rights and Inclusion Strategy on World Children's Day 20 November, we are not wasting any time in seeking out the views of children and young people.
We have some exciting projects coming up that we are looking for people with lived experience of the hearings system to get involved in. It is important for us to understand your views and get your feedback so that our work is the best it can be.
- Co-design of communication friendly and audio/visual versions of our Children’s Rights and Inclusion Strategy:
If you would like to join a virtual group who will co-design two further versions to make our strategy accessible for all, please contact our Children’s Rights and Inclusion Coordinator, Laura Beveridge laura.beveridge@chs.gsi.gov.uk before Wednesday 2nd December 2020. - Consultation activity on Children’s Hearings Scotland Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy:
We are currently developing an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and would love to get your thoughts on it. We are planning to hold a (virtual) consultation session in December and will also have an online survey which you can complete anonymously. If you are interested in taking part in either of those or would just like to find out a bit more about our work on this, please just get in touch with Jeanne Martin at Jeanne.martin@chs.gsi.gov.uk before Wednesday 2nd December 2020. - 2021 Campaign to recruit new Panel Members:
Across Scotland, we are looking for local people with lived experience of the hearings system to join our local volunteer recruitment teams. If you are interested in gaining experience and receiving training in Recruitment and Selection while helping choose our future Panel Members, please contact Laura Beveridge at laura.beveridge@chs.gsi.gov.uk before Wednesday 2nd December 2020 to gain more information about what is happening in your local area. - Video featuring people with lived experience of the hearings system:
We want to know what kinds of qualities and traits you think are important for Panel Members to have when in hearings making decisions for you. We are planning to film a video asking these questions of people who have lived experience of the hearings system, to hear directly from you. What do you want Panel Members to be like? Your views, thoughts and ideas can, through this video, influence the types of people we see applying to be Panel Members in our 2021 recruitment campaign. If you are interested in taking part or would just like to find out a bit more about it, please contact nathalie.helene@chs.gsi.gov.uk before Wednesday 2 December 2020.
