Elliot Jackson reappointed National Convener
Natalie Don-Innes, Minister for Children, Young People and The Promise, has approved the reappointment of Elliot Jackson as National Convener and Chief Executive of CHS for a further five-year term.
‘Elliot has, for the past five years, navigated CHS through a significant period of consultation and engagement in relation to the Promise and reform, ensuring the voice of children and young people and our Panel community has been ever present in the discussion. And of course he has steered the organisation through Covid, a uniquely challenging time for us all.’
– Katharina Kasper, Chair, CHS Board
Period of change
The reappointment comes as Elliot leads CHS through the outcomes of the Scottish Government’s Children’s Hearings Redesign consultation, and as the hearings system prepares for implementation of the Children (Care and Justice) (Scotland) Act 2024.
‘I am delighted to continue leading CHS for the next five years, working with our Panel Community supporting positive outcomes for children and young people, during this time of transformation for the Children’s Hearings System.
‘Leading CHS is a privilege and I look forward to working together with you to deliver transformational change for Scotland’s children and young people over the next five years.’
– Elliot Jackson, CHS National Convener and Chief Executive
