Being a Panel Member in Orkney

Panel Members in Orkney are expected to commit to sitting on one to two hearings per month, and to attend monthly business meetings (currently held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5pm) and local learning and development opportunities through the year. Additional training opportunities will be offered locally and we would expect Panel Members to attend where possible.

Please be aware that business meetings are not held during January or August.

Local Training Events

• There will be a variety of local training evenings every year, organised by the Learning and Development Co-ordinator (LDC). You should attend as many of these as possible. Local training will focus on local services available to families and practice issues particular to Orkney. These events also provide you an opportunity to meet with fellow Panel Members to develop supportive relationships.

Hearing dates are set as and when required between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
